208 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Health the investigations, if any, undertaken by his Department in relation to reported vitamin deficiency and enzyme deficiencies in patients in the County Louth area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16392/96]
Limerick East): The reported possible vitamin and enzyme deficiency mentioned by the Deputy refers to a study being conducted by a general practitioner in the Dundalk area. I am advised that the study has not yet been published or made available. As already stated in an Adjournment debate in December of last year, when the study is published and available to my Department I will have it examined very carefully and if necessary have further investigations carried out.
