Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - Private Transport for the Disabled.

Mary Wallace

Question:

268 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health the average level of payments to people with disabilities for assistance with providing private transport in each of the health board areas; and the procedures in place to ensure the standardisation of these payments. [16908/96]

Limerick East): The information sought by the Deputy has been requested from health boards. When it becomes available to me, I will forward it directly to the Deputy. I might add that the issue of transport and mobility for people with disabilities is being considered by the Commission on the Status of People with Disabilities which is due to report shortly.
