Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - Foreign Travel.

Ivor Callely

Question:

291 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the projected number of visits which he will undertake between now and the end of December 1996, in the context of Ireland's Presidency of the EU, to EU member destinations, other European destinations, North American destinations, African destinations and other destinations; the total cost of such travel; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16638/96]

In the context of Ireland's Presidency of the EU, I will be attending the Council of Social Affairs Ministers in Brussels on 2 December 1996. My travel costs will be approximately £600. At this point, no other foreign visits are envisaged.

Additional travel costs may, however, be incurred depending on the progress of draft EU legislation on the agenda of the Council of Ministers.
