Brennan asked the Minister for the Environment the estimated total cost to his Department of all bulletins, pamphlets, newsletters, circulars arising from Ireland's Presidency of the EU; and the estimated total additional cost to his Department of Ireland's presidency, indicating the major items of expense. The estimated total cost to my Department of printing and production of programmes and other documents arising from Ireland's Presidency of the EU is £3,000.
The estimated total additional cost to my Department of the Presidency is £300,000. The major items of expense are likely to be accommodation and other costs in relation to two meetings in Ireland at ministerial level, and costs of additional staff and of additional travel/subsistence.
