334 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the current position regarding his negotiations with his counterpart in Northern Ireland concerning the progressing of the proposed motorway between Newry and Dundalk; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16408/96]

The agreed consultancy study of route options in relation to the Dundalk-Newry route is under way and a final report is expected before the end of the year.
