355 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the programme of meetings and dinner functions he intends to host in Ireland for the EU Council of Ministers in the context of Ireland's Presidency of the EU; the venues for such functions; the numbers attending; the basis on which the venue was chosen; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin)

I have already hosted an informal meeting of EU Environment Ministers on 19-21 July. The meeting, at which all member states were represented, was attended by 103 delegates and took place in Dublin Castle.

The Minister for Housing and Urban Renewal will host a meeting of EU Housing Ministers on 24-25 October. It is expected that some 80 delegates will attend this meeting which will also take place in Dublin Castle.
