359 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment whether he will make funds available for the upgrading of the water supply to the towns of Cobh, Midleton, Youghal and Carrigtwohill, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16748/96]
Contract documents for a water scheme to serve Cobh, Midleton and Carrigtwohill, and a preliminary report for the proposed Youghal water scheme have been submitted to my Department. Given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme. I cannot say when it may be possible to advance either scheme.
