Question:424 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made on an application for school transport (details supplied) in County Galway; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16560/96]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department has sanctioned a partial re-routing of the service for those eligible pupils within their school catchment area, and who are more than three miles from the existing service.
The remaining pupils who reside outside of the catchment area, may be allowed catchment boundary transport only.
