Vol. 469 No. 1

Written Answers. - Foreign Travel.

Ivor Callely

Question:

681 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Marine the projected number of visits which he will undertake between now and the end of December 1996, in the context of Ireland's Presidency of the EU, to EU member destinations, other European destinations, North American destinations, African destinations and other destinations; the total cost of such travel; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16651/96]

The visits which I currently plan to undertake between now and the end of the year in the context of Ireland's Presidency of the EU are as follows:

Meeting with Commissioner Bonino, 26 September, Brussels.

Transport Council, 3/4 October, Luxembourg.

Meeting with French Minister for Fisheries, 8 October, Paris.

Fisheries Council, 14 October, Luxembourg.

Structured Dialogue, 17 October, Malta.

Structured Dialogue, 18 October, Cyprus.

Fisheries Council, 22 November, Brussels.

Conference on Mediterranean Marine Management, 27 November, Venice.

Transport Council, 12/13 December, Brussels.

Fisheries Council, 19/20 December, Brussels.

This list is subject to modification in light of the ongoing exigencies of Presidency business. It is not possible, therefore, to give the total cost of Presidency-related travel at this stage.
