Question:143 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance the total number of payments and amount of revenue generated as a result of excise duty on foreign travel in each of the years 1975, 1985 and 1995. [16665/96]
Written Answers. - Excise Duty on Foreign Travel
I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the excise duty on foreign travel was introduced in 1982. This duty has been charged at the rate of £5 per ticket from 1983 onwards.
