Private Members' Business. - Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Mary Wallace — the failure of the Government to publish a major report on health services for people with disabilities; (2) Deputy Leonard — the collapse of pig slaughtering plants in the Cavan-Monaghan constituency which has resulted in substantial loss of jobs; (3) Deputy Ring — the reason for the removal of a school bus service from students attending Louisburgh secondary school, County Mayo; (4) Deputy Quill — the exclusion of two schools (details supplied) in Cork city from the Breaking the Cycle scheme and the measures which the Minister for Education will take to rectify the situation; (5) Deputy Ó Cuív — the policy of the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications, on the social and economic importance of access for peripheral regions to efficient and competitive telecommunications service; (6) Deputy Dan Wallace — the exclusion of two schools in the Cork North-Central constituency from the initiative for breaking the cycle of educational disadvantage; (7) Deputy McDaid — the present position regarding the extension to Ramelton No. 2 national school at Ramelton, Letterkenny, County Donegal; (8) Deputy Brendan Smith — the industrial dispute at Wellman International Limited, Mullagh, County Cavan; (9) Deputy Joe Walsh — the need to retain Aer Rianta duty-free facilities; (10) Deputy Cowen — the serious threat posed to the Irish beef industry by the decision to reduce Garda manpower on the Border and the threatened closure of the vitally important Russian market to Irish beef; (11) Deputy Geoghegan-Quinn — the need to establish an independent VHI Users' Council following the recent criticism of the council by the VHI; (12) Deputy Matt Brennan — the decision of Aer Lingus to discontinue its daily commuter flight between Sligo and Dublin; (13) Deputy Broughan — the urgent need to take all necessary steps, including the removal of subsidies and the use of non-European Union crews, to prevent the closure of the Irish Continental Group's sea route from Rosslare to France and the consequential loss of up to 400 jobs on the north side of Dublin and in Wexford; (14) Deputy Tom Kitt — the industrial dispute at the Wellman plant at Mullagh, County Cavan.

The matters raised by Deputies Walsh, Geoghegan-Quinn, Quill and Smith have been selected for discussion.
