Written Answers. - ILO Convention.

Máire Geoghegan-Quinn

Question:

199 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment when he will ratify the ILO Convention on Home Work which was adopted by the Irish Government recently; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17199/96]

A Convention on Home working was adopted by the ILO during its annual conference in June 1996. The Irish delegation supported the adoption of the convention and an associated recommendation.

I have asked my officials to examine what steps, if any, might be required in domestic law to ratify the convention.
