Vol. 469 No. 3

Written Answers. - Revenue Commissioners' Investigation.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

19 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Finance if he will request the Revenue Commissioners to have an investigation and report carried out on the taxation of employees in a company (details supplied) in Dublin 2. [17291/96]

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that they are precluded on grounds of confidentiality from indicating publicly or to third parties whether they will investigate the tax affairs of particular taxpayers. I have been advised by the Commissioners, however, that all such requests for investigations are carefully examined and dealt with as appropriate.
