Vol. 469 No. 3

Written Answers. - Equal Status Legislation.

Liam Aylward

Question:

66 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform when he intends to reply to the proposals submitted to him by the Vintners' Federation of Ireland in July 1996, which included safeguards to be included in the equal status legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17484/96]

The proposals submitted by the Vintners' Federation of Ireland in relation to the Equal Status Bill have been examined and will be fully borne in mind in the finalisation of the legislation. Pending publication of the Bill, however, it would not be appropriate for me to give details of how these suggestions might be addressed in the legislation.
