55 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the plans, if any, he has for the promotion of classical and contemporary music performance in Ireland on foot of the recommendations contained in the PIANO report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17436/96]
As the Deputy will be aware the PIANO report presented to me earlier this year raised issues that are proper to be considered by RTE, An Chomhairle Ealaíon and the Minister for Education in the first instance. I am still in the process of consultation with these parties and I am not yet in a position to indicate which, or in what manner, the recommendations contained in the PIANO report will be implemented.
