Vol. 469 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Lottery.

Máirín Quill

Question:

109 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the overall allocation of funds from the national lottery to his Department in each of the years from 1991 to date; the specific projects funded; and the amount allocated to each project. [17687/96]

The allocations referred to by the Deputy are published annually in the Public Services Estimates and the actual expenditure on individual projects is published in the annual Appropriation Accounts. Prior to 1993 the Department of the Taoiseach was responsible for expenditure on projects in the arts and culture areas, including expenditure by the former National Heritage Council.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 8 of 26 October 1995, in which I outlined the position regarding the funding of projects by the National Heritage Council up to 9 July 1995. Details of the grants paid after that date by the new statutory Heritage Council will be published in its annual reports.
