Vol. 469 No. 7

Written Answers. - Provision of Computer Equipment.

Austin Deasy

Question:

52 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if she will ensure that a special computer aid approved by the Central Remedial Clinic for a student (details supplied) in County Waterford will be provided immediately in view of the disadvantage this is causing to the person concerned. [18062/96]

I am aware that an application has been received in my Department seeking the provision of computer equipment for the student in question.

This application is one of a number of requests for special equipment which are currently under consideration in my Department. All such applications are considered in terms of priority of need and having regard to available resources.

Decisions regarding these applications, including the case mentioned by the Deputy, will be made as soon as possible.
