138 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education when the elitist grant aid scheme for Olympian athletes was introduced for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta; and if she will give details of the grant allocated to each athlete for each of the four years leading to the 1996 games in Atlanta. [18218/96]

The Atlanta Aid Scheme was established to enable potential medal winners to prepare for the 1996 Olympic Games. The scheme was introduced in 1994. The athletes in receipt of grant under the scheme for each of the three years in question are listed hereunder.
