60 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Justice the number of petitions currently under consideration in her Department; the proposals, if any, she has to make decisions in respect of these petitions; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18436/96]

There are currently approximately 5,000 petitions on hand and these will be considered in the light of the 1995 High Court judgment on petitions.
