82 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of the new appointments in the child-care area; the location of these positions; and the number which are within the statutory service, the voluntary service, the day care service and residential service. [18927/96]
The Deputy will be aware that over 900 posts have been approved for the child care services since 1993. This figure includes 50 new posts for the statutory services within the child care area which were approved this year as part of the 1996 child care development plan. The breakdown of these new posts by health board area in 1996 is set out in the following table. Details regarding new appointments in the child care area within the voluntary sector are not available.
