Vol. 470 No. 3

Written Answers. - Parking Restrictions in Residential Areas.

Ray Burke

Question:

94 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the danger being created in residential areas by the parking of heavy goods vehicles, on occasions for up to one week; and the proposals, if any, he has to stop this practice. [18879/96]

I propose to include a specific provision in regulations, to be made under section 35 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, next month, enabling local authorities to restrict the parking of large vehicles in specified places or areas.
