Vol. 470 No. 3

Written Answers. - Road Closures.

Ray Burke

Question:

104 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the inconvenience being caused to children in the Ringcommon, Stamullen and Balscadden area of County Dublin, resulting from road closures during the construction of the Balbriggan by-pass; and if she will agree to the provision of a school bus until the roads are re-opened in June 1997. [18873/96]

My Department has recently being made aware of the inconvenience caused to the children in question due to road closures.

Bus Éireann, which operates the school transport scheme on behalf of my Department, has been requested to furnish a comprehensive report on the matter.

As soon as this report has been received and considered, my Department will respond to the Deputy.
