Séamus Hughes

Question:

105 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Education if she will have arrangements made to expedite the examination of the bill of quantities submitted to her Department in respect of a school extension at Scoil Muire agus Pádraig, Swinford, County Mayo, to enable these necessary works to proceed as soon as possible; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18874/96]

An extension is currently being planned for Scoil Mhuire agus Pádraig, Swinford, County Mayo.

Architectural planning is proceeding and the bill of quantities for this project was recently submitted to the Department. This submission is currently being examined by the Department's technical staff. When the bill of quantities is approved, the question of inviting tenders for this extension will be considered.

Every effort is being made to have the planning of the extension completed as quickly as possible.
