181 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Education the cost of salaries and incidental expenses of all programme managers, special advisers and other non-established contract staff in her Department for each of the years from 1994 to date in 1996; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19165/96]

The cost of salaries and travel and subsistence expenses of programme managers, special advisers and other non-established staff attached to my office and the offices of the Ministers of State at my Department for each of the years 1994, 1995 and 1996 (to date) are set out in the following table.

Travel and subsistence expenses are the principal components of incidental expenses of staff. It is not feasible to realistically apportion other incidental expenses to individuals as much of the data is not recorded on a specific personal basis.
