Vol. 471 No. 4

Written Answers - Higher Education Grants.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

182 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education whether a person (details supplied) is entitled to have her fees paid for a postgraduate course; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20931/96]

Under the terms of the third level student support schemes, the reckonable income for the purposes of the award of a grant is gross income from all sources of the candidate and his/her parents or guardians where applicable.

I understand from Donegal County Council the body statutorily entrusted with the administration of the higher education grants scheme that the reckonable income in the case of the student in question exceeds the income limit. She is therefore ineligible for student support.
