Written Answers - Pupil Enrolments in Cavan and Monaghan.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

186 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Education the number of second level pupils attending schools in counties Monaghan and Cavan in each of the years 1986 and 1996; the current average per capita spent nationally and in counties Cavan and Monaghan; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20962/96]

Information concerning pupil enrolments at second level for 1986 and 1996 in counties Cavan and Monaghan is set out in the following table. State expenditure, excluding capital expenditure, on a national per capita basis for the second level sector in 1995 was £2,225. However, per capita expenditure data is not readily available in my Department on a county basis.
