Written Answers - Clogherhead (Louth) Pier.

Michael Bell

Question:

275 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Marine when work will commence on Clogherhead Pier, County Louth; the cost of the work; the contributions, if any, from his Department towards this cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20749/96]

Clogherhead Harbour is owned and managed by Louth County Council and I am advised that tenders have been sought and received by the council for renewal works at the harbour. The tenders are being assessed and it is expected that work will commence on site within the next few weeks. My Department is providing £150,000 towards the cost of these improvements which will cost an estimated £200,000.
