Vol. 471 No. 4

Written Answers - Interdepartmental Report.

Síle de Valera

Question:

96 Miss de Valera asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he intends to implement the interdepartmental working group report on strengthening the protection of our architectural heritage; and the timescale involved. [21110/96]

The report of the interdepartmental working group on Strengthening the Protection of the Architectural Heritage will form the basis for a package of specific legislative, administrative and financial proposals relating to the protection of the architectural heritage which I, with my colleague, Deputy Brendan Howlin, Minister for the Environment, intend to bring forward to Government early in 1997, following detailed consideration of the report which is currently taking place within both of our Departments and taking account of any observations received in relation to the recommendations in the report.
