Vol. 471 No. 5

Written Answers. - South Galway Flood Study.

Noel Treacy

Question:

94 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Finance the reason a project (details supplied) in County Galway has not been completed; the date on which works will recommence; the nature of the works to be executed; the estimated length of time it will take to complete these works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21362/96]

The area of County Galway in this case forms part of the South Galway Flood Study area. Pending completion of the consultant's report of the major multi-disciplinary investigation into the causes of flooding in the South Galway area, which is expected in mid-1997, the Office of Public Works do not have any proposals at present to undertake drainage works in the area in question.
