I propose to take Questions Nos. 13, 16, 20, 22, 29, 38, 48, 49 and 57 together. In 1993 I established a scheme of annual grants to assist management bodies of primary schools in their work. Four management bodies are assisted, namely, the Catholic Primary School Managers' Association, the Church of Ireland Board of Education, Foras Pátrúnachta na Scoileanna Lán Ghaeilge and Educate Together. The scheme assists management bodies to defray administrative costs arising from items such as mail issues, organisation of seminars and meetings, reserch and publications.

The amount of the grant payable to each management body is related to the number of schools represented by each. In the case of Educate Together, an annual grant of £1,000 was paid each year from 1993 to 1995. In 1996 the level of grant to Educate Together was increased by 100 per cent bringing its annual grant to £2,000.
