Vol. 472 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Joe Walsh

Question:

179 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has to provide a new sewage treatment plant for Schull, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22631/96]

A brief for this scheme has been submitted to my Department, but given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve it.

John Ellis

Question:

180 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve a sewerage scheme for the village of Drumsna, County Leitrim, in view of the pollution which is entering the Shannon at that point and the historical significance of this village in relation to the Dun of Drumsna. [22632/96]

Given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this proposal.

Donal Moynihan

Question:

181 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for the Environment the total number of water and sewerage schemes sanctioned for 1996 in south Cork, north Cork and west Cork; and the total amount of money allocated in respect of each category. [22667/96]

John Ellis

Question:

182 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment if he will include the north Leitrim section of the Lough Gill regional water supply scheme in the next application for cohesion funding to the EU. [22668/96]

The Drumkeerin-Manorhamilton-Dromahaire water supply scheme is included in the application for the Lough Gill regional scheme submitted to the European Commission for financial assistance under the Cohesion Fund. To-date, the Commission has only approved that part of the application which relates to the Sligo and environs water supply scheme.
