201 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she had to extend the teacher retraining programmes currently provided by her Department to include a range of in-career development measures and initiatives to teachers who are currently unemployed. [22510/96]
It is open to teachers who are seeking employment to keep in touch with their nearest education centre to find out when courses relevant to them are being run and discuss the position concerning attendance on any particular course. Education centres play a key role in the provision of inservice courses for teachers and may also be able to offer general advice in regard to inservice training opportunities to the teachers concerned.
