Vol. 472 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Placement.

Seán Haughey

Question:

203 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 who wishes to be admitted to a special class in a primary school such as St. Patrick's national school, Drumcondra, Dublin 9, in view of his speech and learning difficulties further to representations made by Deputy Haughey on 24 June 1996; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [22543/96]

I understand that arrangements originally made for a school placement for this child were unable to proceed because the family moved to a different area. I have arranged for a member of my Department's primary inspectorate to call to the family to discuss educational options for the child in question.
