Question:209 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Education when she will authorise the purchase of a site for Pobail Scoil Rathcairn, County Meath. [22587/96]
Written Answers. - Purchase of Site.
Approval was granted for the provision of a new 1,300 square metres all-Irish school for Rathcairn, County Meath.
A 6.78 acre site has been identified as the most suitable site for the proposed new school. The site has been examined by the Department's post primary building unit and has been found acceptable for development. County Meath vocational education committee has been instructed to make the necessary arrangements for the purchase of the site.
When the site purchase is complete, a design team briefing meeting will be arranged to initiate architectural planning. The question of providing capital funds for building will not arise until the planning process has been fully completed. However, every effort will be made to have the planning of the proposed new school completed as quickly as possible.
