Vol. 472 No. 1

Written Answers. - Trade with Bangladesh.

John Connor

Question:

281 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if he will make a statement on the level of trade between Ireland and Bangladesh. [22830/96]

Trade with Bangladesh is modest but growing. According to CSO trade statistics total trade with Bangladesh in 1995 amounted to £10.2 million, consisting of £5.8 million in exports and £4.4 million in imports. The accession of Bangladesh to the World Trade Organisation in January 1995 is a positive development from a trade perspective.
