Vol. 472 No. 1

Written Answers. - New Bord Gáis Headquarters, Cork.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

328 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the name, date and nature of the Government and EU regulations being adhered to in the selection of a new design team for the Bord Gáis headquarters in Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22558/96]

I am informed by Bord Gáis Éireann that in relation to the selection of a new design team for the board's proposed new headquarters in Cork, they are adhering to the provisions of Statutory Instrument No. 51 of 1995 of 28 February 1995 European Communities (Award of Contracts by Entities operating in the Water, Energy, Transport and Telecommunications Sectors) Regulations, 1995, which tranposes into Irish law Council Directive 93/38/EEC of 14 June 1993 coordinating the procurement procedures of entities operating in the water, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors.

Bord Gáis Éireann are also adhering to the guidelines for State bodies in this case.
