Vol. 472 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Michael Bell

Question:

105 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance if the Commissioners of Public Works are the owners of Barlow House, situated at Narrow West Street, Drogheda, County Louth, currently occupied by An Garda Síochána; if not, the person who or organisation which owns this house; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22580/96]

It is confirmed that the Commissioners of Public Works are the owners of the property in question which is currently used as a Garda station. The construction of a new Garda station in Drogheda is nearing completion and it is expected that the current station will be fully vacated by the gardaí within the next six months. If the vacated property is not required by another Government Department, it will be considered for disposal.
