194 Dr. McDaid asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the Government working group announced in October 1995 and convened in July 1996 for the purposes of having a more equitable and accountable system of capitation. [23266/96]
Further to a commitment contained in the White Paper on Education, Charting our Education Future, I announced the establishment of the steering group on the funding of second level schools on 25 November 1996. Under its terms of reference, the group will draw up a recommended funding framework designed to ensure equal treatment for different schools within the second level sector while taking account of the needs of these different schools.
