Vol. 472 No. 3

Adjournment Debate. - Cork University Hospital.

Deputy Batt O'Keeffe gave me notice of his intention to raise the matter as to the action the Minister for Health proposes to take to alleviate the problems experienced in the Accident and Emergency Unit of the University College Hospital, Cork in view of the fact that this unit had to close recently due to lack of beds. Who will take this matter?

I will deal with the issue of exporting military goods to countries with appalling human rights records.

I am ready to proceed.

We shall proceed with Deputy Andrews's question.

I record my dissatisfaction that the Minister would not think fit to be in time to take an important matter on the Adjournment. Somebody should contact the Minister and tell him I am waiting to make a formal complaint about a serious lack of emergency services in Cork.

The House is well aware of what is happening here just now.
