94 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the arrangements, if any, which are being made to ensure reception of Teilifís na Gaeilge for residents living in the Gaeltacht area of Ashleam and Derreens, Achill, County Mayo. [23087/96]
I have been informed by RTE that television viewers in the Ashleam and Derreens areas of Achill Island receive their television signals from a small transposer in Curraun. RTE hopes to have a Teilifís na Gaeilge transmitter installed at Curran early in 1997 and this should provide Teilifís na Gaeilge reception for viewers in these areas.
