Vol. 472 No. 8

Written Answers. - School Building Projects.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

89 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Education if she will give details on a year by year basis of the number of capital projects at primary level which were carried out with the assistance of grant aid from her Department in each of the years from 1987 to 1991; the name of the school and the location in each case; the amount of State aid in each instance; if she will review her refusal to give the requested information on this matter further to her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 134 of Tuesday, 3 December 1996; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24211/96]

My Department does not have a centralised record of individual projects carried out in the years in question and I cannot justify assigning scare staff resources to examine all primary school building files to ascertain the information. I would be happy to provide information in relation to any specific project of concern to the Deputy.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

90 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Education whether an earlier sanction for extra accommodation was issued to a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if so, when this sanction issued; the number of rooms sanctioned; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24212/96]

No sanction has been issued in respect of additional accommodation at the school to which the Deputy refers. My Department does not have a current request for additional accommodation at the school.
