Question:

120 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Health the current position regarding the application submitted by the Western Health Board for grant approval for a new health centre at Inishturk, County Galway. [24506/96]

Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 117 to 120, inclusive, together.

As the Deputy will be aware the provision of health centres in the Galway area is a matter for the Western Health Board in the first instance. My Department made a capital allocation to each of the health boards in 1996 for the development of health centres in their areas and each board has been developing health centres on the basis of priorities for development. The health centres mentioned by the Deputy were not included in the priorities which were undertaken in 1996 by the Western Health Board. The development of the board's priorities in 1997 will depend on available resources and I am not in a position at this stage to give a commitment on funding for 1997.
