Vol. 473 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grants to Schools.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

225 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the urgent need for a replacement school at Urbleshanny, Scotstown, County Monaghan; if she will provide funding for a school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24381/96]

I am aware of the need for a new school at Urbleshanny. The project is included on my Department's capital programme. The current position on the project is that all the planning work has been completed and the contract documentation is ready. A decision on the timing of the tender process will be taken in the light of existing contractual commitments for 1997 and the funds which will be available in 1997.
