Vol. 473 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Ivor Callely

Question:

355 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the total amount of national lottery moneys received to date by his Department; if he will give details of the allocation of such moneys to projects; if there are any commitments in regard to future disbursement of such funds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24479/96]

Since the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications was formed, a national lottery funded grant-in-aid was paid to An Post for restoration work at the GPO in Dublin, in 1993 in an amount of £729,000.

This represented a continuation of the restoration work which was funded by the national lottery through various Departments since 1990 as follows: 1992, Department of Tourism, Transport and Communications, £893,000; 1991, Department of Tourism, Transport and Communications, £999,391; 1990, Department of Communications, £500,000.

There is no commitment to future disbursement of such funds by my Department.
