Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Ivor Callely

Question:

361 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Defence the total amount of national lottery moneys received to date by his Department; if he will give details of the allocation of such moneys to projects; if there are any commitments in regard to future disbursement of such funds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24480/96]

The Irish Red Cross Society, Coiste an Asgard — operation of sail training scheme — and the Army Equitation School are funded by national lottery moneys received by my Department. The total amount of such moneys received to date is £7,722,000. Details are given in the following schedule.

In accordance with the recently published Estimates for public services, lottery funds will be provided to my Department in 1997 for the same purposes and at the same level as in 1996. The funding is allocated by way of grants-in-aid to the Irish Red Cross Society and Coiste an Asgard.
