Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.
Construction of Westport water supply scheme extension from Cloonkeen to Castlebar, costing an estimated £2.25 million, is currently under way. It is intended that the scheme will be substantially completed by mid year.

Treacy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction a project (details supplied) in County Galway; the date on which this will be done; the amount of money to be allocated for this project; the date on which construction will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. This scheme is being considered in the context of my Department's water and sewerage schemes work programme for 1997, details of which I will announce shortly.
