Vol. 473 No. 4

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

405 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice the names of the registered owners of two folios (details supplied) in County Mayo. [25263/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the appropriate way to obtain the information sought by the Deputy is to lodge an official search in the Land Registry. The search should be in Form 101 of the Land Registration Rules 1972 accompanied by the prescribed fees. The search may also be made by telephone but it should be confirmed by the applicant in writing and the fees paid before a result of the search may issue. The fees payable on a search are £4 per folio.

Alternatively, the folios may be inspected at the public counter in either the local office, Courthouse, Castlebar or the Land Registry central office. The fees for inspection are £1 per folio.

Question:

406 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice if she will expedite the registration of lands in respect of persons (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the delay is causing hardship. [25282/96]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to a transfer of part which was lodged on 24 September, 1993 and is associated with schedule 91864, which is a Land Commission vesting order. Part of the vesting order relates to the folio in question. The matter has been examined and it appears that this dealing may be disassociated from the schedule and proceed independently. I understand that provided no queries arise, it is expected that the dealing will be completed in approximately two months.
