Vol. 473 No. 4

Written Answers. - Courthouse Repairs.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

428 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Justice if she will expedite repairs to Castleblayney courthouse, County Monaghan; when work will commence on such repairs; when work will be completed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1265/97]

My Department has just recently received an Engineer's report on the structure of Castleblayney courthouse and this report indicates that work to the structure of the building is urgently required. My Department considers that while undertaking the necessary structural works it would be necessary to consider whether other works or improvements might also be undertaken. This matter is under consideration at present. The Deputy will appreciate that it would not be possible at this stage to set out a timescale for the project.
