566 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the progress, if any, made in relation to the commitment given to Deputy Mr. H. Byrne by the Minister of State at his Department that the conference on organic food, deferred in 1996 will be held early in 1997; the date and venue for this conference; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is intended to hold the Organic Symposium before the end of April 1997 at a venue outside Dublin.

The date, venue and speakers for the symposium are being finalised at present and will be communicated to the Deputy as soon as they are available.
