Vol. 473 No. 4

Written Answers. - Drumcondra 2005.

Noel Ahern

Question:

589 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications when he intends to provide access to his Department's records on some major transport projects as requested on 3 December 1996 by Drumcondra 2005 under the Access to Information on the Environmental Regulations 1996, SI No. 185 of 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1557/97]

The secretary of Drumcondra 2005 has written to me requesting access to and copies of all documents, papers and records held by my Department on LRT for Dublin, DART extensions, the reopening of Drumcondra station, investment in the Maynooth railway line and access by rail to Dublin Airport and Swords in accordance with the Access to Information on the Environment Regulations, 1996.

My private secretary has responded indicating that it was not possible to determine from the request which, if any, specific records would come within the scope of the Access to Information on the Environment Regulations, 1996 and pointing out that my Department was prepared to respond to all reasonable requests for information relating to public transport investment projects. The response also gave the name and telephone number of an official of my Department who could be contacted in the matter.
